Introduction to this blog

Have you ever had that feeling after waking up from a dream that there was something truly special about the experience you just had; and even though any memory of it is rapidly slipping away from your grasp, there is the sense that someday you will return to it?

Yet when we awaken it often seems that the dream was just vanity: encountering themes our subconscious processes not unlike the many other processes of the body to repair itself so that we can start the next day renewed, with our minds a blank slate.

That extraordinary dream we had is forgotten, and the belief that our waking state is the only one where true reality exists takes firm hold of us.   After all, dreams don't pay the bills. We can't live without resources (money, food, shelter, etc), and dreams don't provide for us the immediate sustenance we require to survive. In this sense, dreaming is a luxury for those who don't have to worry about generating the resources required to sustain their lives on a daily basis.

Yet even though most of us fall into the category of having to work in order to survive in this world, we cannot deny that there are aspects of ourselves which resonate with the idea that we are here in this world for a purpose that is greater than merely struggling most of our lives to survive. There is a great part of us which yearns to live without constraint: to express itself in infinite ways, to experience the beauty of it all. It simply does not feel right to limit our own experiences.

So how can one navigate such a reality?
